Aussie Trip (Day 2)

Continuation from here.

Today is movie world day! The concierge had already arranged transport and booked tickets for us the day before. So we decided to sleep in and go for breakfast at 10am, afterwhich we will wait for the driver at the lobby. Actually if time permits, i would want to go all 3 worlds. I chose this world is because i know dreamworld is more on rides, seaworld more on water rides and movie world because i want to take photos with tweety and others! Rides anywhere also have but not the looney tunes characters. Last time, when we came here on a tour group, we got to go to 3 worlds in like 1 day. But no point going to 1 world for 2 hours each only and also obviously a waste of the entrance fee.

Ha, thats mum waiting for the toilet.

Alas! We forgot that breakfast closes at 10! So we ended up going to the mini store to get cup noodles + my CLEO, the australian version! Haha, when i was in thailand, i was looking for their CLEO too but then i realise i cant read thai! LOL.

Look at the bus’s bugs bunny – so cute. And the yachts, parked right in front of houses.

After picking other people up from other hotels and 1 hour later, we are here!

The weather is hot hot hot! Hot until despite me wearing like that, i didnt perspire much at all. And that day is the very first day of the 2 weeks school holiday in aussie. So we expected quite a bit of crowd. The very first thing that caught my attention was:

And it became my first and only ride of the day. There are only 3 rides in here? And one is closed. The other, i also didnt know why i didnt queue for it. Haha!

It was shiokness! And after going through that slope, i think i got a vague idea of what the top thrill dragster will be like.

And when i went to the store to buy my photo, they have this USB option! Which means i dont have to buy printed ones and take the trouble to scan the photos anymore. And it can be used anywhere in the theme park.

We then took a walk around and decided to have snacks while waiting for the next session of the stunt show.

And thats where i saw and missed the photo-taking session with those cute stunt drivers!

Look at the crowd going in for the show. We still had to wait and approximate 15 minutes after coming in.

They were shooting spectators at the stands. I was waiting for our faces to be shown there so that i could take a pic. I think we had our turn but didnt noticed it then.

The whole show was so awesome and spectacular. So nice and hilarious!

Here comes the grand opening. Can you imagine driving at such high speed in such confined space? Look at all the fumes emitted. They went really super fast.

Some of the highlights of the show:

The police car kena shot and it broke into half! And the front part can still be driven away!

This is completely awesome. And my favouritest part.

They went 1 whole round like that.

So damn cool can the drivers?

Cute + cool + amazingly skilled drivers = a very wooh! me.

 Next was to look for tweety! But i dont see her or any other characters anywhere in the streets.

Oh, turns out they now have this photo hut with different sessions for different characters.

Shucks! Tweety’s one is at 11am! Which i was probably still on the bus there. But with bugs bunny and lola bunny, better than nothing! They were so cute, they hug and kissed in front of us.

I actually took another picture for this but the one with the tweety’s version turned out to be better so i used it for both.

I think i really abit tweety siao leh.

Sadly, times flies and its 5pm already! So we went out to wait for the bus driver to come pick us and go back to the hotel.

Bye movie world!

Dinner that night was at Spinners, the hotel’s cafe, where we had our breakfast on day 1.

Waited quite long for the food, turned out is that they serve them altogether. And all on hot plates! Haha! It was pretty amazing to experience what i had saw in hell’s kitchen!

 

People are so nice in the aussieland, as nice as people in thailand. Everywhere we go, be it at the cashiers, lifts and so on, everyone asked if we enjoyed our trip.

So nice!

Aussie Trip (Day 1)

Ok, so here i go about my little adventures in aussieland!

I have 1402 photos in all so i think i shall just sieve through and post some.

On 19th sept, we boarded the 9pm flight to brisbane (gold coast).

The time difference between aussie and spore is 2 hours.

That is why i had jetlag. You see, the shops and everything closes at 5pm there so we had to try to complete our planned itinery before that. And in order to do that and to catch breakfast, we had to wake up super early, which is like 4.30am(ST), 5.30am(ST) and so on. And for dinner, we had them at 7.30pm(AT) which is 5.30pm(ST). So early! Which is why i always wake up the next day feeling hungry. LOL.

The flight was uncomfortable throughout. I dont know if its because it was a midnight flight so they turned the temperature up a higher notch, but it was so stuffy and hot. Whats worse is that im sitting right in the middle. I didnt managed to sleep at all the whole night/flight. I fidgeted a lot and 5 mins in there seemed like 2 hours. Whats worse is that my in-flight entertainment is not working =.=’ But the flight service was good, they carried out trays and trays of drinks throughout.

After 7.5 hours, on the 20th sept at 6am (4am ST), we reached!

And met mr captain who drove us to the hotel. Can you believe its 6am by the colour of the sky? Before landing, the pilot told us that its 20DC outside. But it felt like 30.

1 hour 10 mins later, we reached Conrad Jupiter.

Our room was still being packed so we had to find some things to do to waste that 1 hour.

I did some research on the places to go since this is a free and easy trip. Apparently the hotel provides loads of brochures too! Haha! The breakfast is super a huge portion and i didnt managed to finish everything up. 

After some hoo-haas over the room, we finally got to go in!

Everyone was really tired from the flight and so we gave ourselves a 1 hour nap before going out.

They have a lot of limos there.

First was to the Carrara (weekend) Market.

We cabbed there and found out that their fares are pretty expensive. A 10 minute ride can easily cost A$20 = S$26. Can go from tanah merah to jurong!

The weather is HOT HOT HOT! So terrible! But at least the wind is pretty chilly.

And look at what i bought there!

 

The original package itself is super hard, doesnt feel like a towel at all! After being in water, tada! Haha. Interesting. I wonder how hard they had to compress the towel.

After that, we went to surfers paradise! And because it was not easy to get a cab at the market, the 1st driver taught us how to call for one! And so we did! Haha! Booking fee is A$1.40 and they came really fast.

Pretty beach and look at how crowded it was! Went shopping around that area, especially dad, who brought almost all long sleeves top here! Luckily he found some really good discounted polo tees! Shopping is really freaking expensive there.

Headed over to the supermarket before going back to the hotel.

Dinner was at a chinese restaurant in the hotel. My parents werent big fans of western food. Food was ok, service was boo!

Because i was denied entry in perth last year wearing my birkies, i changed into my pumps when we were going to the casino. Turns out there is no need to. And i had 2 blisters for nothing. And guess what! Ive been asked for my ID! LOL! I look young! The age requirement is 18, so i look younger than that la? And ive been asked for them every single time i went in. Haha, actually the person says that anybody who looked younger than 25 must have their ID checked. Who knows, maybe they thought im 24 instead?! And even though i went out and want to go into the casino again (in less than 5 minutes), they still had to check my passport again (even though its the same person who checked previously).

Nothing much to do in there so i went back to the room, subscribe internet and watch Hell’s Kitchen. And because i know its going to be boring in the nights, i brought the dvd player over. WITHOUT the dvds. How nice.

Haha, thats about all for the first day!

experience of a lifetime

the 8 hours of flight back was oh so fantastic!

omg!

hahah!

and the moment i got out of the airport, i started perspiring.

so hot and irritated that i wanted to bang my head against the wall.

i didnt perspire at all in sydney lor =.=’

and now that im back home, i miss aussie already!

ok, fun times over, its time for some serious work.

i miss home

no doubt im enjoying every moment of my trip, i missed home, sans the weather.

LOL.

and ive been drinking so much peach tea that i think im gonna turn into 1 giant peach when i go back to singapore!

haha!

its off to the fish market and aquarium today!

 

Darling habour is just so pretty.

its bright, sunny and chilly here! i can walk outdoors without perspiring like a tap turned on =X

apart from the pretty dusty surroundings, everythings good! im loving sydney!

and news says that the storm may come back tomorrow so we went for photo-taking first!

i cant feel my nose

thats how freezing cold sydney is right now! of course i welcome it! but of course the strong winds were from the storm and maybe it wont be so cold anymore later in the days.

the flight to sydney today was delayed for an hour because of the red sandstorm this morning.

the storm was at sydney, but this is how gold coast looks like 1000km away from it. news reported that dogs white in colour went out and came back red. flights got cancelled and we were worried that we wont be able to get there as scheduled. luckily the weather at sydney cleared and we got here safely (apart from the fact that we were pretty lost at the domestic airport). LOL. and on the way to the hotel, can see that lots of cars and pavements were covered with red sand. and news once again reported that it may last till fri. i shall cross my fingers and pray hard that it doesnt come back anymore. if not we wont be able to get our sightseeing done!

we ate ice cream in the freezing cold!

and i was trying to do a jump shot here, which after many attempts is still unsuccessful (after coordinating so many different methods) and so we gave up. i think its because of the lightings and so on.

the very clumsy me spilled my glass of orange while reaching for the pepper. luckily i managed to dodge in time. if not i will look as if i peed orange juice =X

today was a trip to Tropical Fruit World,

and there are kangaroos in there too!

surviving in the heat

Its off to the Movie World today! The sun was really hot hot hot, hot until i couldnt perspire at all. Haha! Movie world is so enjoyable but ive 2 regrets.

1) Tweety was nowhere to be seen! Last time when i was here, the characters were everywhere on the streets and we took photos with all of them! But that was like 12 years ago so i figured that changed. LOL.

Anyway, at least i got a chance to take with Bugs Bunny and Bunny Lola! Better than nothing!

As for tweety, i shall just take a pic with the miniature version!

2) I wanted to take a photo with the cute and handsome stunt drivers and their car. But i didnt, i thought i would wait till later on. Alas! It was the last session! Wah, i was swooning over them during their performance. So damn cool you know, the way they controlled their vehicles.

Woots!

Ok, more on that when i blog about today’s adventures.

But i really wanted to kick my own ass for not taking a picture when i had the chance.

its only 2 hours of difference in time but it felt strange.

turns out the flight is at 9pm and we must leave at 7pm.

luckily i double checked with mum.

omg im still 50% packed only as of now (3pm).
