Macau Trip (Day 4)
Today is Macau sight-seeing day!
Because of the Grand Prix, certain roads were closed so we chose to have the sight-see after the event.
Place 1: Macau Tower
We took the shuttle bus to another hotel before cabbing to the tower in groups. Its 61 storeys tall.
We first took the lift to the 59th floor, some sort like an observation deck.
Very beautiful scenery of course.
Theres a special feature there. Theres a part where the ground is transparent and you can look directly 59 levels down. Like the 4th pic shown. Last year when we came, this level was under renovation so this is the first time we saw that.
Ok this is me standing on it.
No joke. Legs will go jelly after few minutes. Felt as if you are not stepping on anything and floating in the air at 59th level. Its like psychologially you feel that the glass pane will give way and you will just have a free bungee jump ride. Just by looking at the pic now, i can feel my legs having a tingling sensation again.
Thats bro trying on it. And people trying to scare him. Haha.
After photo-taking, we dragged our jelly legs into the lift and travelled upwards to the 61st floor.
This level is also like the observation deck but with various activities like bungee jump, skywalk etc taking place there.
Last year when we came, cheryl and i contemplated doing the skywalk but did not in the end.
This year, before we came on the trip, we’ve already decided to go ahead with it.
Skywalk is walking around the whole macau tower – on the outside.
I thought of trying the bungee jump, but because i had lasik done, im not a suitable candidate for it. Anyway, when i saw the video footage being played near the ticketing counter, my legs went even jellier than when i stood on the glass pane. Even no lasik i also dare not jump liao. Haha.
Before we start, we had to sign on the:
Waiver form!
In which we received an orange t-shirt which we had to put on before proceeding to put on our safety harness.
As im not wearing shoes, i had to change into theirs – which i dont like! I regretted not asking if i can walk barefoot, heh heh.
Wear socks first la. Haha.
We are set and ready to go on our adventure!
We had a guide cum photographer to bring us around. I’ll show you the photos taken by the guide for us before the behind-the-scenes ones.
Professional version:
I dont like their shoes leh. Or at least provide white ones la. Though white and black are universal colours but white is nicer leh, to me la.
First few minutes pretty windy so had to keep flipping my hair. And few shots in front my hair very messy.
See the markings there? So cute leh, When you see buttock/shoe marks there, its time to stop and take photos!
See the other pair of buttock marking next to me? Im gonna ask my boyfriend sit there and take photo with me!
Hahaha!
Woolala! I love this pic of all! Scenery damn nice hor? And actually sitting on this is much scarier than sitting at the 1st spot. See my legs stiff and all? LOL. Also hor, its only when i came back and look at the photos that i saw that the outer rim (the part where my kneecaps were) so super thin! Luckily it didnt break under my weight leh =X
Eh sit there abit scared leh, i cannot feel my legs (below kneecap) at all. And when i have to stand back up, i push my buttocks right back in before standing up.
When we were at the different markings, the guide will show us the various poses to do for photo taking. After this very pose, while the guide was showing us the very next one, my mum began shouting from the inside.
~
Mum:
Eileen! Dont want ah! Dont do it ah! Dont want!
(Repeat this whole cycle for the next few poses)
~
She said all that with actions too. For her to be so loud that we can hear, I think everyone inside the 61st level can probably hear her (shout) too. She looked really angry and about to cry. LOL. My bro asked her to go away and not look at us. Even dad shook his head and hand and expressed his concern about us doing those poses. After the whole thing, people came telling me that mum repeatedly said that she regretted letting us go for it.
Anyway, later in the day after the whole thing, cheryl and i also confided in each other that the sitting at the edge there is pretty scary and we pretty much dare not do the rest of the poses even if mum did not stop us from doing it.
My fat face and the thin tip of macau tower (very hot by then)!
Our last pic outside. Nice bridge!
Macau has very nice sceneries hor!
I mentioned that at the beginning windy so had to keep flipping my hair right. After like 2 minutes ah, very hot leh! The sun shine directly onto us lor! At first i was still thinking of bringing jacket there (to wear outside), because the higher you are, the colder it gets isnt it? No leh, i think should be the higher you are, the hotter it gets.
Know why?
Because you are nearer to the sun!
Hohoho!
Correct mah!
I think the sun shine until all my freckles and pigmentation come out. Somemore wear 2 pieces leh (i just slip the tshirt on over my top).
Ok, i’ll show you the behind-the-scenes pics captured on our cameras (taken from inside – the observation deck).
People’s turn to take photos.
Eh, when im taking the 1st sitting shot and had to sit down hor, i got so clumsy leh! You see, we have a safety belt attached to us right? That safety belt can be adjusted and locked. Mine was locked and so when i tried to sit down, i couldnt! So i got suspended mid-air leh, no rather, i was sitting in mid-air! Oh my god so pai seh can! Haha!
I got stuck there and couldnt sit down until the guide helped me to unlock my belt =X
Actually i dont know how long we’ve been outside, cause we’ve been busy taking photos and before we knew it, we finished the whole journey.
Mission accomplished =)
Comparing the skywalk and standing on the glass panel, the glass panel is much scarier in my opinion.
It was such a fun experience for us but not my mum =P
Place 2: St Paul’s
We first went to this stall in the market place to buy xia jiang (prawn paste – used to fried prawn paste chicken wings). Very very nice! The other time mum bought some home and we were so hooked on it! So we went back to buy many many bottles. We also bought sze chuan vegetable – the green round one where is a is smeared with a layer of red chiller powder, salty, must soak before cooking, best eaten with porridge.
Eh! Their market (like our wet market) got aircon de leh! Then when i looked up trying to find if its really aircon, i saw row of fans no less than 10cm between each other. My heaven leh! If only singapore’s markets have such features. Heh heh.
Prawn paste – the brown bottles with red caps.
Sze chuan vegetable - the ones in blue basket (i think).
So we walked along the slope upwards, past the 2 rows of many shops, buying local snacks in the process, heaving and panting until we finally reached:
St Paul’s!
Beautiful eh?
After which, we began our way back down the slope.
See how crowded?
Resting my super tired legs.
The rest of them then cabbed back to the hotel with the barangs while mum, cheryl and i cabbed to yaohan in search for some tidbits that couldnt be found in spore. Alas! Reach there whole building under reconstruction! Wasted trip! Then when we tried to cab back, no cab wanted to fetch us back all the way to the venetian because its time for changing shift! Sky getting darker and we waited for at least 30 minutes for a cab because all that we flagged down refused to go to where we want. So luckily we found a better solution that is to cab to a nearby hotel and to take the shuttle bus back. Worked. Happy leh.
For dinner, i had korean cuisine (hotel’s food court)! Yummilicious kimchi stew! Bro said the bamboo rice (chi cuisine) very nice! I thought it was cute to have your rice presented like that. The last 2 pics were what we had for supper when we da-baoed it back to our room for supper later in the night. The pepperoni pizza damn nice. See i purposely took the close up of the 2 slices.
Are you drooling now?
LOL.
After supper, nothing to do leh.
Take photos again!
Oh yeah, thats the wristband we had to put on for the skywalk and we also received a cert leh! We also have a ‘member card’ in which we will have discounts for the next time we go on it again, if that is mum allows la. Heh heh. Anyway i lost the card at dont know where leh. Cant find =(
I used to love tweety bird very much when i was young. Not so much since i’ve grown out of that phase but when cheryl and i saw this in the warner bros shop in the macau tower, we just had to buy it! Hers (on the left) had a side parting and looked more boyish is named tweety. Mine looked more girlish so named tweenie. LOL. Naming credits goes to cheryl la. LOL.
I ended my day with a nose mask!
And slept soundly blackheads-less!
HAHAHA!
