Perth Trip – Day 2
Its breakfast time! But its american breakfast instead of international if im not wrong, because dont have fried bee hoon/mee/congee. So cute leh, breakfast got mushrooms. I didnt try the bacon (that plate belongs to mum) till the 3rd day and woolala its fabulous! Damn love the scrambled eggs too.

Dad came to the table with a super chao tar piece of bread.
Mum: Why your bread so black?
Dad: Ya lor, i also dont know.
Me: Must be over tanned in the toaster liao la.
Dad: Ya hor, i forget to apply sunblock lotion for the bread.
Mum & Me: WAHAHAHAHAHA!

After breakfast, we were about to go up to our rooms to take our jackets and set off to our first destination when we decided to go out and have a feel of the temperature. Initially wanted to stand outside for awhile test temperature but it turned into a photo taking session.
Very cold you know. I think its because its early morning and no sun yet. Less than 5 minutes outside, my hands cold until like it has been in the freezer for 30 minutes already. My hotel surroundings very nice hor? I like leh! Got a lot of seagulls flying around also! The one that i took knew that we were taking photos of it and it really stood there and let us take leh! Must be in the modelling field la (it turned its head in different directions). Hahaha. The last pic that shows a building is the Holiday Inn Hotel that im staying at.
(Please pardon my same poses, i really dont know how to pose. But if just stand there straight also very funny right? Haha. So i guess you will be seeing lots of same poses for the next following days.)
So, the first place we went to for the day is the Fremantle (Market). It only opens (i only know for market, the rest im not sure because never explore) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Again, we took the train from Burswood station to the Fremantle station. Pretty long journey, its like from Tanah Merah to Clementi. Once there, we waited at the bus-stop for the bus to arrive. That bus is the special Fremantle Cat bus. It is free and it fetches you through every point of the Fremantle. The one in the first pic shows the first stop. If i never remember wrongly, they promised that waiting time will be maximum 10 minutes only (its true!) and they encouraged you to not drive and to take the bus. Just take note of the places that you wanted to go and press the stop (like spore buses) button before your stop. There are around 20+ stops. If you take the bus without stopping/dropping off at any point and go right back to starting point, the whole journey takes 45 minutes.
LOL. The 3rd picture – thats us standing at the entrance of the Fremantle Market (stop 11), looks (it is actually, cause i have to resize it) super distorted. The bag dad is carrying is for us to put our barang barangs in (so that the many shopping bags wont get lost and our hands wont be so tied up – but poor dad had to carry the bulk of the shopping). The ice cream very nice leh. I chose the lemon sorbet flavour (on the right) while dad chose the something-boys berry flavour (on the left). Cute names they named their ice-cream can.
Inside, it has stalls selling clothes, accessories, ornaments, cooked food, (super fresh) fruits and vegetables and many more! It was pretty crowded, i guess it being on a sunday. We went to the clothes, accessories etc part before moving on to the fruits and vegetables part – which i am more interested and super excited about. I squealed with delight and was grinning from ear to ear when i saw the fresh strawberries, together with other fruits.
Strawberries very fresh leh! It says on the cardboard freshly picked! Of course i bought some of it back to eat at the hotel (chosen by me! not all packed up in a box!). Wa i really never see such fresh strawberries in my life before. So happy :) Those from our local supermarkets compared to these is really tian yuen zhi bie (think its because of the airfreight/transportation here and there so when it reaches us not so fresh liao).
See the super cute mini carrots? Oh ya, they cut the fruits on the spot (see the picture below) to let you try also leh, so you can decide whether you like it or not.
When we were there, it was the season of mandarin oranges and oranges and so there were plentiful of them. Thats dad choosing fruits – 2kg for A$4, any fruits within the category. We bought mandarin oranges and apples.
Ok, the next picture below is specially taken for butt.
Butt, see liao hor? You’ll understand why this picture when i see you next week! Hahaha!
When we came out, we saw a dog lying at the entrance there (dogs not permitted inside). Sooooooo cute! Its time for lunch next. Uncle Dominic told us that theres this very famous place selling fish and chips and that if we want we should go and try it. We walked all the way there (stop 20-something i think) and got lost in the middle of it and we had to ask for directions. LOL. Eh by the way, the Australians are super friendly, polite and nice people leh. Not once but alot of times that i’ve encountered. Finally we arrived at Cicerello’s! True enough, the crowd there super overwhelming! Uncle Dominic also told us that their fries servings super huge, so what he said we can do is to order 1 set of fish and chips and an additional of 2 fish slices. We ordered 3 sets to share among 7 people. Lo and behold, the fries really a lot leh, somemore is the fat and thick kind, not Mac’s that thin kind. Of course we couldnt finish the fries (but very nice fish!). Another thing is that if you want sauces, you will have to pay for it, they dont give it to you free. That fizzy lemon drink super refreshing after all that oiliness!
Super nice environment next to Cicerella’s! Next to the sea leh. And there are lots of seagulls (flying in the sky) again!
I love this pic to bits. Its one of my favourites. My photography skills good right? HAHAHA!
The seagulls clever leh, saw that people finished up and left already they immediately swopped down and eat the food leh. So, we walked to the bus-stop to catch the bus back to the train station, because we have to rush to our next shopping destination (remember shopping closes at 5pm?). The next nearest bus-stop is the one at the ship-wreck museum. So while waiting for the bus, took pics again. The anchor that im posing with is a real one leh! 100+ years old already. The sky there very nice hor? I fell in love with their sky leh, really nice until beyond words lor. Over the next few posts you will find me repeating this over and over again =X LOL.
So, its back to Perth station (think our City Hall)! There got a lot of shopping leh (think Raffles City and Suntec)! Nice flowers they have too. I thought since its winter all trees will be botak but thats not the case leh. So the very first shop mum brought me to (she’s been there before so she knows where) is to Roc Candy!
Just nice when we reached there, they were also just nice starting to demonstrate the process of making the candy from scratch. Lucky me! Due to the time constraints (so many other things i want to buy), i did not stay there till the end. But i was satisfied already! I’ve also tried on their freshly made and pipping warm candy on the spot!
A little past 5, we caught the train back to Burswood.
I really like the wind tight (feng jing) of my hotel leh. Anyways, because we were still very full from lunch, we had our dinner later in the night.
For dinner, we went to a food court next to the casino. International food there i think. Quite a lot of choices. The laksa not bad leh! Except that they didnt use as much coconut as our local version. And they dont call it laksa, they called it egg noodle. The other dish of fried noodles so-so only but their stir-fried vegetables nice! Fried pork also nice! All 3 of us shared because we were really still not hungry at that time. See that Yeo’s can drink? it costs A$3.20 leh! Wah can buy 4 cans in singapore liao. Their drinks sold outside is very expensive, so do bring your own bottled water.
***
Halfway through eating.
Dad: Ah girl you want the mimosa?
Me: Huh? Mimosa? Its the plant right? The shy plant? Han xiu cao ah?
Me : You mean samosa right?
Mum and i: HAHAHAHA!
***
My memory good hor? Can rememeber these conversations. LOL.
After that went to the casino for awhile (there really no night life). Sat playing the electronic roulette with mum. I think its the cheapest bet i’ve ever played before. A$1 per bet. Cruise’s one at least $25. Both of us lasted very long with a A$50 note. Overall for the whole trip i won A$60, but i could actually bring home A$170 de leh. All because i lost during the last 2 days. Haha, then drop till A$60 i dont want to play liao. At least must win some from there right?
This is our room. Its kinda big, but my camera cant take it all in so i took some parts of the room only.

I like this jacket leh! But its too hot to wear in the day (with the sun somemore), at night its perfectly useful and cosy but since theres no night life we wont be out so if we wont be out no chance for me to wear already. I actually brought another one but i didnt like it so i die die also must bring this one out =X Haha. No chance to wear and take photo so camwhore in the room lor. Its available at Winter Time. It also comes with a belt across the waist which i had forgotten to put on.
Its time for supper!
My beloved strawberries!
See how fresh and long it is? Super crunchy la. Singapore’s one is soft. Oh ya, remember to bring lipstick lipice with you when you go overseas, especially if its during winter. Whenever we are overseas, we tend to drink a lot lesser water than what we do at home. At first dad ask me to go and buy 1 but i stubborn thought i drink enough water to replenish myself can liao. But cannot leh (also that i never drink enough water), my lips cracked a little and so when im enjoying my strawberries got a little pain discomfort (on my lips) la. LOL.
Yeap, after that im off to dreamland, to prep myself for the next day of adventures (my most favourite day of the trip)!
Thats all for day number 2!
