Met
Yeah, after gazillion years, i finally met up with Helena.
Its been really long, like 5 years (not counting the time we bumped into each other at Tampines Mall’s NTUC)?
But in between we still got message each other la.
Hee.
Its actually my fault la (no, its not about us quarrelling or anything, but thats just too long a story to be typed out).
Anyways, we met up for dinner, settled down at Kenny Rogers and had dessert at Swensens (actually wanted to go Changing Appetite but i forgot it was closed for renovation).
Even though we did not meet up for such a long time but we can still actually ask each other the same question at the same moment!
The first question that we wanted to ask each other was:
Do you still sweat as much?
Hahahaha!
You see, she is my good cum sweating friend back in secondary school.
We are the only 2 girls who sweat super alot in school days. Everyday after recess, we will compare the wetness of our uniforms (the back part). It doesnt really help that everyday after recess we have to line up at the super hot assembly carpark. By the time we went back to class, we were so soaked through until you can actually see our bras. Or what we like to do to each other is to do ’sweat’ drawings on each others’ backs. Because of the way we tuck in our school uniforms, theres this ‘pong-ness’ and so even though we may sweat alot, it doesnt show until we bend forward. So we like to draw ’sweat’ lines on each others’ backs.
We can really relate to each other in alot of things, in terms of sweating. Nobody knows how much we actually hated sweating and the things that we encounter when we sweat. Its like we actually have the exact same feelings la. So amazing!
We sweat so much that we thought of going for the operation to cut off all our sweat glands.
LOL.
Fake one la, we say and wish only. We dont dare. Its too crazy.
We spent 4 hours catching up, chatting, gossiping and bitching about lots of stuffs.
No doubt there are some awkward moments at first and i felt a little awkward (so long never meet liao leh) but after we broke the ice, we were back to normal (like secondary school days).
I really enjoyed myself. Dont you like the feeling of being able to chat about everything under the sky with your good friends?
We didnt take any photos just now. So i’ll just use this first. (Actually if you look closely, our uniforms are already soaked through). Please do not click on the photo to really go look at the sweat stains though =X
LOL!
We shall meet up soon again ya!

Sushi
Heh, its not another of my sushi making post lah.
Have you ever tried local flavoured sushi?
Well, i did!
Hereby presenting the 2 special sushi that i tried on yesterday:
Can you guess what flavours are they?
Haha. The one on the left is Chwee Kweh flavour, the one on the right is Chicken Rice flavour.
So innovative huh?
LOL.
The chicken rice one did really taste like chicken rice leh. The chwee kweh one, the chai por very nice!
Wahahaha!
Speaking of sushi, i really missed Sakae (Butt, we very long never eat there liao hor?).
We’ll have our meal there for our next next next outing ok? After the Jumbo and steamboat sessions!
Wahahaha!

Happy Birthday Winston!
Saltwater
Yes, thats where i just came back from.
Not the sea lah.
LOL.
Its actually the name of a cafe offering international buffet in Changi Village Hotel.
We came here for dinner today (or rather yesterday) to celebrate dad’s birthday since his classmates are treating him to dinner on his actual day (20th june).
Very nice ambience leh there! Service also quite good.
I didnt managed to take pics of all the displays. This is only a part of it. Theres this outdoor part (poolside) where they BBQ your food for you and another section where theres laksa, chicken rice, lor mee etc.
Some of the food that we shared and tried. I especially like the popiah (which i didnt take a picture of), very nice leh!
Didnt try all the food la, very full leh, really got quite a selection to choose from.
Overall, its thumbs up for this cafe! I really like it! Im going back there again! Hahaha!
Price wise also quite reasonable, about $40++ (for tonight la – weekends im not sure). If you have DBS credit card, you’ll get 20% off. Or if you have HSBC credit card, they have this 1-for-1 offer on Saturdays only.
Go try it!
Last but not least,
Happy Birthday Dad!
Hope you like the present we got for you.
=)
(Sidetrack: I had a fabulous 21st birthday! Will update once i had the pictures send to me and sorted out).
Thats all for now!
Nites!

WOoOoOo!
Anyways, i had a great time celebrating my birthday today with the whole lot of my family.
Photos will be uploaded soon.
Im happy happy happy!
Zoo Trip & Dinner
Today, or rather yesterday, we went on a trip to the zoo!
Ms shoot is a blood donor and so she is entitled to 2 complimentary tickets to the zoo.
The previous time we relied on public transport and cab to get there but this time round we decided that we would drive. Because of miscommunication, or no its my fault la, we didnt check the route to the zoo. Basically, we were just driving to the zoo without knowing how to go there =X After many close shaves, u-turns and 3-point-turns, we managed to reach the zoo in one full piece. What a ride! LOL!
The weather super hot, perspire until i think i can collate 10 buckets of it and as usual, the pamphlet became kiam cai after being used by me to fan myself. There are also lots of people in there, compared to the previous time where i think we practically almost had the whole zoo to ourselves. Haha.
So we went round walking and looking at the animals but we didnt take as many pictures as the other time because all taken before already.
Yes, toilet also we want to take.
Walk until halfway then we began to see people holding on to ice-creams and tada, right in front of us is an ice-cream cart. So we decided to have it!
Its super shiok to have ice-cream in such weather.
Eh, we never randomly pull a guy and ask him to take photo with us la. The 3 of us are ex-Manjusrians and red cross members. Haha, actually im an ex red cross member liao, the other 2 still active. Ren Jie was there to help out in the event.
We walked past this part, where we saw this cute little monkey:
Then, it came closer and closer to us people taking photo of it and it behaved like a model leh! He/She look here and there at different cameras for people to snap at leh! So cute la, haha. You see for yourself the number of people crowding around:
Dont know whose random stubby fingers are these =X
Really a lot of people la, my camera also cannot take in all of them.
On the way to the exit, we went by the orang utans and they were there for a photo-taking session with people.
They are super cute!!! Especially the way they eat the fruits given by the zookeeper.
That sort of sums up our zoo trip for the day, its more or less the same as the previous one and because the weather’s really too hot, we cant be bothered to take photos.
After the zoo trip, we were thinking of going out for dinner, but the day being saturday, the thought of the huge crowd in malls led us to decide to have steamboat over at my house.
Therefore, we went to shop for ingredients. We bought crabs leh haha, for my maid to cook. I’ve been wanting to blog about her super nice crabs but i havent done it. Anyways, the super brave ms shoot picked up the tongs and grab the live crabs that we decided to choose. We were squirming and laughing la and we totally had no idea how to go about choosing nice ones in the first place.
Super yummylicious black pepper crabs! My maids super cool, know how to cook a lot of dishes, you see my size already you know la.
This is an incredible lot of food for just 3 people (Ms shoot, my maid and me – the other maid went back to Indonesia for holiday, dad and mum not in, bro went for soccer match).
Dont ask me why the third cup only had a piece of ice in it. Some no brain person (obviously its ms shoot) did it. LOL.
Of course we couldnt finish all the food la and we really ate till our seams almost burst.
~Very full~
Yes, post dinner activity is to take photos. But the always busy ms shoot is too busy sms-ing to take a picture with me haha.
Woo! Its been a very fun day and im looking forward to the Escape trip coming up very soon!
I cross my fingers and pray hard that im not sunburnt and that my skin wont peel tomorrow.
I better go slap on more moisturiser already and my comfy bed is already calling for me!
Nites!
=)
Im a father & a grandmother
The other day, i was teaching my 6 year old cousin about the family tree. He knows how to address us accordingly but when it comes to the terms concerned, he had no clue about it. Like for example, his dad and mum are his parents, his mum’s father is his grandfather and so on.
After explaining the various terms to him, this is the conversation that we had.
(PTK & SPS being Dexter’s parents’ names)
Me: Dexter, so PTK is your ?
Dexter: Son! (Answer supposed to be - father)
Me: Nono, he is your father. Okok, so you are PTK & SPS’s ?
Dexter: Grandmother! (Answer supposed to be – son)
Hahahaha!
So his father is his son and he is also his parents’ grandmother!
He is just so cute la.
LOL!
Fruits
My interest in fruits are very seasonal. That meaning, i have the mood i eat, i dont have the mood i dont eat. Hahaha. Very bad habit though. Fruits are good for us, isnt it?
Nowadays, the season for eating fruits came back in me. Heh, i guess it was the cherries that my aunt brought over the other saturday that sparked it off.
I am a very fickle and devoted fruit eater. Fickle because i dont have a fixed favourite fruit (i change it all the time) and devoted because i will only eat the fruit that i like at that very moment.
Right now, my favourite fruit are the cherries – may not be this answer if you ask me this question a few months later. Haha. At first, cherries in my mind are those super sweet red ones that are placed at the tip of ice creams, but after trying on what my aunt brought over, i fell in love with it.
Meet my new lover – cherries.
Im really so into it that i ate 4 huge boxes of it within 2 days. Im going to buy more of them tomorrow. However, one thing is just that the price of cherries are so super duper expensive. Eat already also quite heart pain. One box that i bought myself costs almost $8, another one that mummy bought today costs $10 and the quantity is even lesser than what i bought with for $8, so expensive la. Heh, at least its healthy la.
oh and guess what eating cherries gave me?
2 purple fingers!
LOL. I didnt know that juice from the cherries will cause stains, but i’ve since got a method to devour them without having to have 2 purplish fingers anymore!
=)
Oh, im wondering if its the season for durians now? Because i had 2 rounds of durian feast already. The Sim family are avid fans of durians. I was once one, but for a period of time after i dont know why i sworn off them and now got back to eating them back, though i still didnt like it as much as i did in the past.
Oooopppss, all gone! LOL.
I always did the traditional stuffs after having durians, like drinking salt water from the emtpy shell and also washing my hands under running water with a durian shell in between.
I was told that using this method, there wont be anymore durian scent left on your hands after washing it. I smelt my hands after im done, lo and behold, the smell’s gone! But now, 6 hours later, the smell is still lingering on my hand. So is this method useful not? Heh, im wondering if anyone else also uses this method.
Anyway, im gonna try wash off the durian smell already!
Got any better methods to get rid of the smell, do share ya?
Nites peeps!
Dinner
I met ms shoot for dinner today, or rather, yesterday night. We went to Coffee Club @ Siglap. A great hang out place!
Our dinner:
I had Strawberry Passion Soda instead of the usual Ice Berry Tea.
Ms shoot’s Or-Mango Blend.
Shared appetizer – Calamari Rings.
My all time favourite – Slipper Lobster Linguini.
Ms shoot’s all time favourite – Garlic Prawn Pasta.
After that, we went for dessert @ Secret Recipe, just a few shops down Coffee Club:
Both of us ordered the same drink, Frosty Fruit – Lemon Flavour.
My favourite – Brownie Walnut with Vanilla Ice Cream.
Ms Shoot’s favourite – Chocolate Banana.
This kuku ms shoot actually told me something very stupid while we were browsing through the menu choosing our choice of drinks. She was looking at the description for the Frosty Fruit and this is what she said:
Ms shoot: Eh, this one not bad leh, got watermelon, orange, lime and lemon mixed together.
Me: ???
The description was actually showing the different flavours available for the drink and not that the drink includes all the flavours la. LOL.
Note to ms shoot: to think you always say that im commonsense-less la. You then hor! LOL!
After dessert, we made our way home and in the midst of it, we chased a cab (within legal limits of course), to see what exactly was on its roof!
See that pot there? We were so curious at first as to what was that. Finally we managed to catch up and it is actually an advertisement la. LOL. I thought only buses had such advertisements leh. Hahaha!
Yeah yeah yeah!
We are going to the zoo zoo zoo again!
